INCE/E and CIDB have examined the situation with regard to novel coronavirus and have taken note and continue to take note of the official guidance provided by the French and other national and international authorities.
On 13th March the French Prime Minister announced that all meetings of more than 100 people would be banned indefinitely. Accordingly on 14th March we re-scheduled the Symposium until Autumn. A week later we announced the revised dates of 19th to 21st October 2020.
Since then more restrictions have been imposed and it seems increasingly likely that, even by October, our activities will still be controlled in some ways by coronavirus, including perhaps restrictions on meetings. We are not going to know for some time what measures we will have to take to protect delegates and venue staff or what restrictions will be imposed on us by governments. Additionally, even if the Symposium can operate without major restrictions there may be delegates who are either prevented from travelling or who would prefer not to travel. Accordingly, we plan to re-structure the Symposium as a remote Symposium and details can be found here.
Thanks to the involvement of members of the Committees and authors, we had assembled the ingredients (75 abstracts) of a most attractive program for this Symposium and we hope Quiet Drones 2020 in October will be the first of a new series.
